Bah-ba-ba-ba-bah-da-da-da-bah, bah-ba-ba-da-da-ba-ba-ba-bah!

Comments

Only one comes to mind.

Ba-ba black sheep have you any wool....

Probably not what you had in mind.

Rock on!!
You will not be getting thanked in the liner notes!
So ok....I had that coming.

How about Ba-ba-ba-Barb-Barbra Ann?? An oldie, but full of the ba-ba-ba....
[this is good]

Hey! I now believe the mystery artist may be this guy.

We once had a collection of songs at work in which the words "Shut up" were hollered. I think we had five or six songs.
However, since we now have a boss with no sense of humor (no personality whatsoever as far as I can tell) we are not allowed to play them anymore and they have been lost in the mists of antiquity.

Good luck with your endeavor, it's an honorable one. I'll keep my ears peeled.
That's a good one. I have the Regents and the Beach Boys doing it. I don't know which one I prefer, but I don't need to figure that out now. That can wait.

Thanks.
So you've just been sitting on this information waiting for me to up the reward to $10?! I followed the link and the guy certainly has the "Tweedy-esque" quality I remember. I'm going to see if I can find his lyrics online and find a match.

I'm wondering if it might be the first track on this album. That's a ba-ba song by a Tweedyesque singer, at any rate. [As soon as my monthly eMusic subscription recharges (Monday), it'll be in my queue.]

Oh, and here.

You should just hum the shut up songs whenever your boss walks by.

No, I haven't been sitting on it. Upon reading this post, I re-Googled "roman candle winter" and found someone's blog entry with that title which gushes about a Drew Banburry concert with no other mention of that phrase, which made me suspicious, so I started searchin' and listenin' and before I knew it I spent the better part of an hour deciding this was the artist.

Since I'm doing this at work, you can just send that $10 to my employer.

Oops, make that Danburry (since the crisp bill requires accuracy).
Right now we are humming the "Jaws" song. :)
Stupid song fragments! How am I supposed to tell if this is the guy if the songs stop after 20 seconds?! Grrrrr! And I'm dealing with my stupid "I'm-gonna-see-if-I-can-go-an-entire-month-without-buying-any-new-music"-thing, so I can't buy his records to find out.

I've Googled that phrase dozens of times since last fall and I've never gotten any hits other than my original Old 97s review. Maybe it's because I pluralized "winter". I don't know.

That's the song!!! check out minute 4:27 of this video.

That's it! Well done. It looks like I owe you a crisp $1 bill.

Or ten of them ... Hey! You just changed your post!!!

That's the last time I spend the better part of an hour on diligent music research for you.

I don't know what you're talking about. You're dreaming! $10 is a crazy amount of money for one song. I think your musical detective skills have gone to your head and you think you deserve the big bucks. Hah!

(Drew Danburry played the Southgate House three frakkin' days ago!)

Right. Well, I guess I won't be sharing the other songs I found recently in my continued quest for that mysterious Yo La Tengo ba-ba song, then.

Oh, I forgot all about that one. There's also the mysterious (non-ba-ba) song I heard at Black Ink last year. So many songs to track down.
I switched it back to $10. You deserve it. I remembered two more ba-ba songs.

Lucksmiths - T-Shirt Weather
Lucksmiths - There is a Boy That Never Goes Out

I bet the Lucksmiths have dozens.

Thank you for acknowledging the switcheroo and not leading me to believe I was nuts. I'm not really after the money. Maybe you can use it to keep Everybody's or Shake It from going under this month. Maybe one of them has the Drew Banburry record since he played there recently.

He's playing in someone's basement in my neighborhood in a couple of weeks. I feel like I ought to go just to tell him the story of how he anonymously gained a couple of fans who were waiting for Rhett Miller's tush to appear, and how one of them offered a bounty for the identification of his song "I'm Pretty Sure This Is Someone Else's Song, But..." and then reneged when the other fan solved the mystery.

Great, now I have like twelve songs stuck in my head.
I haven't heard that one in years. Thanks.

I just can't get you out of my head....

No, really.

I'm pretty sure the Wedding Present/Cinerama has at least one ba-ba song. Please spend your weekend finding it. Thank you.
I just talked to a weird friend of mine who likes Kylie Minogue. He says it's a la-la song. I wouldn't know, of course, as I don't have that song (or it's 12" vs. New Order white label remix) on my computer. Honestly I don't.
Ah, The Kid was just playing me some cover that was definitely Ba-ba. I'll ask her who it was and get back to you ... if I even remember...
Here are three more:

Minus 5 - Retrieval of You
Partridge Family - I Think I Love You
Breeders - Fortunately Gone

Now I'm going to get off the computer and spend the evening listening to the Left Banke, the Zombies, Beulah, Apples in Stereo, etc. Thank you all for your help. Keep it coming.

I hate challenges like this because I can't come up with anything off the top of me noggin, and there's no way I can really identify a ba-ba song just by looking at the title in my eyetunz.

I'll waste my whole weekend on this probably instead of getting any housework done. and there's not even a tenner in it for me.

grrrrrr

What about Ba-ba-ba-baby I'ma want you by Bread?? It's totally sappy, but I think it passes the ba-ba-ba test.
how about Monday Monday by the Mamas & the Papas? It's more like ba-da, but close enough!

How about this one by Badly Drawn Boy? again it's kind of like ba-da....

I was going to go check out Beulah when they played here 6+ years ago but there was a traffic jam as soon as I got onto 95 so I turned around and went home.

Sappy is cool, so don't apologize. I went into the blue room and got out my 2 CD Bread Retrospective. I listened to "Baby I'm-A Want You" and didn't hear any ba-ba-ba's in there. It wasn't a waste of time, though. I think there's got to be at least one ba-ba song on here and it's going to be fun listening for it. "Dismal Day" is a great song.
I have determined that both "Monday, Monday" and "Once Around the Block" meet the eligibility requirements for The Ba-Ba Box Set. I don't mind if there are some D-sounds mixed in with the ba-ba's. The title of this post even has some da's in it.

Thank you for your contributions. Your assignment for the weekend will be to listen for ba-ba songs by all those weird bands you like that I've never heard before...like King Kahn and Kinky and that guy with the terrible cover art. Your housework will still be there next week.

oh I'm blanking on the terrible cover art! I remember you mentioning it a couple weeks ago and I forget already but it's someone I really like. ....

damn. OH! The Sleepy Jackson.

I think I can find something from Komeda....and maybe Cibo Matto.

OH! I totally have one for you...Our Hospitality by Komeda. the whole first stanza is bababadabum....gotta uploady....

Okay like 3/4 of the song is a ba-ba song!

righ'chere

You linked to Badly Drawn Boy again, but I found the Komeda song over in your library. It's a good one. I'm sorta dancing in my chair.
oh and bad cover art The Sleepy Jackson seem to prefer "na" to "ba" so far......

oops sorry about that. glad you like it. let me know if you want me to send it.

My problem (well, specifically with this project) is I start listening to songs and forget I should be listening for babas.

LAST ONE FOR TONIGHT

Mosquitos--Boombox

(pretty sure that doesn't link up to Badly Drawn Boy...)

Death Cab for Cutie - The Sound of Settling. That was the first one that popped in my mind.
I have that Death Cab song on my computer, but I don't remember ever hearing it until this morning. It sounded brand new to me. It also sounded perfect. It's exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks.

It's been slow going so far. I listened to the complete works of the Left Banke (twice!!) and they don't have a single ba-ba song. It's all la-la this and la-la that. I thought they'd have at least three. Grrr.
That's one of my fave Death Cab songs. I spent some time this afternoon searching for more ba-ba songs in my library. Songs that I really thought were ba-ba's turned out to be la-las, na-nas or ah-ahs. Since it's the Thai New Year holiday, I'll have some extra time for listening.
Please don't waste your weekend specifically searching out ba-ba songs, but if you happen to hear any that you think are appropriate--either this weekend or later on--drop me a line. Thanks.

(And that goes for everybody who's helped out so far.)
How about ba-bad, ba-bad Leroy Brown. :P
Homebody found three ba-ba songs by the Apples in Stereo and I found two on a KEXP live comp:

Apples in Stereo - Ruby
Apples in Stereo - About Your Fame
Apples in Stereo - The Silvery Light of a Dream (part 2)
Bobby Bare Jr. - I'll Be Around
Ben Gibbard - Recycled Air (much better than the Postal Service version)

And let's not forget the Kinks:

Kinks - Johnny Thunder
Kinks - Afternoon Tea
Brian Wilson Said by Tears For Fears. and there are probably plenty of Beach Boys songs (besides Barbara Ann) too....maybe?
Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated
Jayhawks - Somewhere in Ohio
Beulah - What Will You Do When Your Suntan Fades?
Beulah - Gravity's Bringing Us Down
You guys are such experts, I am just sitting around making smartass comments and letting you do all the work.

all the ones I think of are more La-La songs, not Ba-ba. I will give Mr. L the challenge, he likes challenges like this.
It entered before I was done.... Anyway I was going to say we have two mixed tapes (This was a while ago) with songs about trains, one about the moon, and another about something else, I can't remember. It was a theme night, we used to get together with friends and make themed tapes.
I think it'll take me a few listens to be able to appreciate that Tears For Fears song. The second one was immediately enjoyable...but I could've done without that cover art, thank you.
...just sitting around making smartass comments...
I like to think that we're planting a seed deep within your brain so that months from now when you hear a ba-ba song, it'll click and you'll remember to tell me about it. I'm sure it's going to be a good one. Until then, keep listening to Jim Croce.
all the ones I think of are more La-La songs, not Ba-ba.
I know what you mean. I've pulled out a lot of songs today that I thought were ba-ba's only to have them turn out to be la-la's, fa-fa's, shoo-be-doops, or even trumpets.

Your tapes sound fun. I kind of miss tapes.
It was always fun to cart all our tapes and CD's to a pals home, there were usually three to four collections of music there. We would be told the theme ahead of time so we could think of them for the whole week. It was a lot of fun. I still have so many tapes.
Does She & Him have any Ba-Ba's? Or are they all La-la or fa-fa"s?
I will most definitely notice every ba-ba song from now until the end. :D
Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away" might be a ba-ba song or it might be a bup-bup song.
Everything the Association ever recorded might be a ba-ba song. I've been listening to their 13 song Greatest Hits CD and I swear at least 8 of them sound like ba-ba's. I can't even tell anymore. I'll have to put my headphones on and try to figure out what they're actually saying.

I'll also try to find a copy of "Not Fade Away." I used to have my own, but I mailed it to you!
I listened to my ipod on shuffle all day yesterday and did not hear a single ba-ba. But I'll keep listening.
Thanks for keeping an ear open. It's clear to me you weren't listening to Seattle's own Math & Physics Club (a band I discovered at your Sonic Boom). I've been listening to them today and I found 3 ba-ba songs:

Math & Physics Club - April Showers
Math & Physics Club - Look At Us Now
Math & Physics Club - In This Together

They might be a bit twee for your tastes. Much like these guys:

The Boy Least Likely To - Fur Soft As Fur
No Bababababab songs, but Happy Easter. I hope you had a nice day.
Baby Driver by Simon and Garfunkel. The chorus has "Mmmm ba-ba-ba-ba" in it. That's one "ba" more than required to qualify.
I don't celebrate the holiday, but I had a good day anyway. I listened to a lot of good tunes and read a bit. I ate a horrible dinner from Boston Market. I hope that place goes out of business. They don't even have stuffing/dressing anymore...and their macaroni tastes like chemicals.
That's a great one, Laurie. Thanks for reminding me to check my Simon & Garfunkel (and thank you for spelling "Garfunkel" correctly). I checked out "Baby Driver" and it's definitely going to have a place in my compilation. Now I'm trying to figure out if "The 59th Street Bridge Song" should count. There are a couple ba's in there, but it's mostly da's.
What!!! Your mom didn't cook a meal for you! You should have come to our house, I would have made a ham alternative for you.
My mom brought the crappy meal over. Boston Market was the only place open.
September 67 - Fire Engine Red
September 67 - Little Lantern Face
September 67 - Teenage Electric (live)
Apples In Stereo - Vocoder Ba Ba
Ivy - Ba Ba Ba

That's good. I was a little worried :)

BTW the kitchen is done. Pics are on my flickr if you want to see...or you can come over soon and see it in person.

Beach Boys - Wouldn't It Be Nice

Speaking of, wouldn't it be nice if you came up with some ba-ba songs instead of wasting all your time renovating your house?! I think so.
nah I think you and your minions have the bababa song thing covered :)
God only knows you could support me in my endeavor. Which reminds me...

Beach Boys - God Only Knows!!!
The Jam - Running on the Spot
And Town Called Malice!
It'll be good to have some Paul Weller in the box set. I'm not familiar with the song, though. I'll have to check it out. Here's one I found on a CD you once sent me:

Beards - All About You

And here are a couple more Beach Boys songs that I'm not going to work into comments to Melissa:

Beach Boys - Wonderful
Beach Boys - California Feelin'
Spaceman by The Killers? I'm not 100% sure if its "ba-ba" or "ah-ah".
A Town Called Malice
I just baba'd myself. That's going to be the lead track on Volume 1.
Both songs are from The Gift. I'm guessing there will be more, as I've begun my "try to cram in the complete oeuvre of Paul Weller" listening before Wednesday's show. Would you rather I fired them off as I find 'em or save 'em up in a list?
I just baba'd myself.
Oh, good, I'm please to see you're using that expression as well. Yay and <3 to Cranky for sharing it!
I have a couple songs by the Killers on my computer, but I never got into them and I don't have the song you mentioned. I've written it down in my Little Black Book of Ba-Ba Songs and will check it out. Thanks.

Would you rather I fired them off as I find 'em or save 'em up in a list?

Post the names when you get them...if it's convenient. I doubt there will be many solo Paul Weller ba-ba songs. I think his solo songwriting may have advanced beyond the ba-ba stage. I'm sure there are plenty by the Jam and the Style Council, though. In fact, I think every Style Council song was a ba-ba song.

Oh shoot, I forgot about the Style Council. I only have two Style Council albums. Ba-ba!

David Watts ... or is that fa-fa-fa ... oh, yeah, we already this discussion. In a just universe ...

I just listened to "David Watts" two songs ago and was incredibly disappointed to confirm that it's "fa-fa-fa-fa". I'll need to check out the Kinks original. Maybe the Jam changed it. I can only hope.

I have one Style Council disc. It's kind of terrible, but I enjoy listening to it every now and then.
Swag - Different Girl
Beach Boys - The Little Girl I Once Knew
Apples in Stereo - Stay Gold
Jim Noir - Day By Day By Day
Association - The Time It Is Today
Association - Time For Livin'
Association - Windy
Billy Nicholls - Life Is Short
Hollies - Dear Eloise
Sloan - Don't You Believe a Word
Tullycraft - Superboy & Supergirl
Tullycraft - Crush the Scene
Grand Archives - Louis Riel
Paul Weller - The Dark Pages Of September Lead To The New Leaves Of Spring
Frank Black and the catholics? All the ghosts?
Beth already figured out the mystery song. It was by some singer named Drew Danburry. I checked out the Frank Black song anyway. I didn't hear any ba-ba's, but it was a decent song...and it reminded me I need to check my Pixies. De-ba-ba-baser?
Beachwood Sparks - This is What it Feels Like
Sloan - People of the Sky
Sloan - Cheap Champagne
Orange Juice - In a Nutshell
Foundations - Build Me Up, Buttercup (ba-da-da)

Did I already mention Bubblegum Lemonade - Tired of Sleeping?

No, that's a new one. I don't have anything by them, but I remember listening to and enjoying one of their CDs at your house.
Orange Juice - Wan Light
Heavy Blinkers - Happy Birthday Baby
Heavy Blinkers - Crowned Miss Fire Prevention
Heavy Blinkers - Unseasonably Sad
Heavenly - Wish Me Gone
Heavenly - Escort Crash on Marston Street
The Wannadies - You and Me Song
The English Beat - She's Going, and there are some ba-de-bas at the end of Save It for Later
Pastels - Yoga
Barcelona - I Have the Password to Your Shell Account
Blueboy - Boys Don't Matter

The Crystals - All Grown Up

I wish you would post and regularly update your accumulated list so your hard-working search team can easily determine whether or not you already know about a song.

I wish you would post and regularly update your accumulated list so your hard-working search team can easily determine whether or not you already know about a song.

Good suggestion. I guess people probably aren't interested in scanning through 100+ comments to see if I've already got their song. I just added the list to the body of this post. You (and anyone else) can still make suggestions here in the comments. I'll update the list accordingly.

Hey, you have 112 songs and 112 comments!

Oh, crap, I just wrecked it.

I came up with another one last night, so it was 113 songs and 113 comments. Everything was right in the world. Then I had to come down here and tell you about it.
There's at least one teardrop explodes song with bah-bahs. I don't know which one(s) but if I figure it out I'll let you know. perhaps balance can be regained.
I don't have any songs by them, but I have one Julian Cope song, "The Greatness & Perfection of Love". I put it on. Sure enough, it opens with a string of beautiful ba-ba's.
The list is quite impressive!
Thanks. I found a new one by the Cure today while I was in a shop. It came on the sound system and I rushed up to the counter and demanded the name of the song and artist.
Awesome! The Ba-Ba songs are revealing themselves to you in hopes to be a part of something great!
Another Apples in Stereo song for you: Look Away.
Thanks. I've never heard that one before, but I'll take your word on it.
It's on The Discovery of a World Inside the Moone. Here's a link to a crappy fan-made video.
Hmmm. I have that CD. I gave it a listen a few days ago, but I must've missed the song. I'll go check it out right now.
To be honest, I was a little surprised it wasn't already on your list.
I pulled "Stay Gold" off the same CD, but somehow managed to miss "Look Away." I must've left the room when it came on. Good catch.
I missed "Stay Gold" when I was listening yesterday, so... I don't know.

Does it count if there is "ba ba" in the title but maybe not in the lyrics? I can't tell if at the beginning he's going Baaaaaaa....baaaaaaa or not. and I don't know that I can make it thru the whole song.

sigur ros

I didn't hear any discernible ba-ba's. In fact, I think it's an instrumental.

Thanks for looking.
American Analog Set - White House
American Analog Set - Gone to Earth
I'm not familiar with American Analog Set, but I might have to check them out. Are these two songs on the same CD, by any chance?

(Thanks.)

"White House" is from From Our Living Room To Yours and "Gone to Earth" is from The Fun of Watching Fireworks.

(You're welcome.)

The Honorary Title - Along the Way

This one sounds a bit like a Lucksmiths song! The rest of the album (Scream and Light Up the Sky) doesn't, though.

Bart Davenport - Jon Jon

This song came on the iPod this evening. There may be a ba-da in there somewhere, but mostly ba-bas.
Thank you very much. I get a huge kick out of knowing that you--on the other side of the planet--heard this song and remembered to tell me about it. It's a very good song, too. #184.

Grand Archives - The Crime Window

That's strange. The Grand Archives record features two ba-ba songs right in a row. I had the first one, but I didn't have "The Crime Window". Thanks for pointing it out.
It is amazing how that can happen...the wonders of the internet and all.

I briefly wondered if there were any Thai ba-ba songs until I remembered that "bah" in Thai means "crazy".
Thank you for honoring me with the compliment about my ear!
You are welcome. Of course, that was in an entirely different post. All I did in this post was write your name in super-tiny font next to "Cracklin' Rosie".

Go-Betweens - Heart and Home

This is also a single ba-ba-dum near the end of track which precedes this one on The Friends of Rachel Worth: "He Lives My Live" (circa 3:20).

I don't have those songs, but I will take your word for it. If it turns out the second one shouldn't count, I can always take it off the list later.

Thanks.
You don't have The Friends of Rachel Worth?! I strongly recommend fixing that.
I have "When She Sang About Angels". That was the only Go-Betweens song I'd ever heard until last year.
This is really a Homebody song. She posted last October and I had to get it for my chemistry playlist. I just noticed that it has a couple of lines of ba-bas. Sam Philips - My Career in Chemisty

225 songs! How many does the other guy have now?
Thanks for still playing along. I haven't found many myself over the last week or so. I've sort of hit a dry spell. As far as my nearest competitor goes, I think I passed him a couple weeks ago. I'm sure he'd come up with a lot more if he knew there was a competition going on.
Velocity Girl - I Can't Stop Smiling
Oooh. Good. I bet there are other Velocity Girl songs....
No further luck yet but I'm enjoying listening to them. By the way, did you get already cover Dressy Bessy?
It's good to have you back on the Ba Ba Song Search Team. Things have been slow going recently...although I did come across three by Jens Lekman.
I went through Dressy Bessy's catalog a week or two ago, but I was at work and I can't say I was listening real closely.

I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, but there's some Shins stuff that may as well be ba-ba songs. La-la, ba-ba. Same thing. I'll review for accuracy, though.
I went through their three studio albums and only found one song. I wouldn't be surprised if I missed a couple though. I should also probably check out the b-sides to their singles which I have on mp3 somewhere around here.
another maybe: Julie Ocean - Bright Idea
Cornelius - Micro Disneycal World Tour

Cornelius - Thank You for the Music
Cornelius - Fantasma
Cornelius - The Micro Disneycal World Tour (High LLamas remix) (even more ba-ba-y than the original
Cornelius - Another View Point
Cornelius - Drop (maybe; the original version, though, as opposed to the Kings of Convenience remix)

Color Filter - New Words

(and I'd like to be credited for Surfin' Bird, please.)

First off, thanks for all the Cornelius recommendations. I had an old Matador VHS tape with a Cornelius video on it. I didn't care for the song, but maybe I need to revisit them.

I have added your credit for "Surfin' Bird".

You're welcome and thank you. (I take particular pride in helping The Trashmen make it to your master list, if not the final box set.)

Neko Case - Bowling Green

"Bowling Green" is my favorite early Neko Case song. I checked out the original and found it's a ba-ba song, too. I added them both to the list...but only gave you credit for Neko's version!

The Troggs - With a Girl Like You
Richard Hell and the Voidoids - The Kid with the Replaceable Head

(Both are covered on the pseudonymed Yo La Tengo live cover album I got tonight.)

The Archies - Sugar Sugar (you should credit W♥M for this one, and also here's why you need that Saturday Morning tribute album)
(The Mary Lou Lord/Semisonic Cover doesn't have the ba-bas at the end however.)
I have a compilation CD called Sugar, Sugar: 60s Pop that I listened to just last week. "Sugar Sugar" is the first track on the CD and I didn't notice any ba-bahs in it.

Of course, I just gave it another listen and there are a few ba-bahs at the end there. I wonder how many others I've overlooked.

Hey, I just noticed that Hotrod currently has a ba-ba song referenced all over his Vox layout! (I'm tempted to steal the credit glory myself, but will give him an opportunity to come forth with it first.)

The credit is all yours. I didn't even think of it.

Kim Taylor - Birds and the Bees
and possibly: Loney, Dear - I am the Odd One

(and yes, I know I'm supposed to be working right now.)

and also possibly: Grizzly Bear - Ready, Able

Hey I accidentally found you a Ba-ba song with your name in it!! via Scooter Kitty, M-----l and the Slipper Tree!

Wow, closing in on 400 huh?

Wow, closing in on 400 huh?

It's more like 300, but who's counting? Oh wait, I am.

heh. never trust me to count anything.
Hello,
Stumbled across this. "Ceiling Fan In My Spoon", The Lemonheads.
That is all.
I have some Lemonheads, but I don't have that particular song. I'll take your word for it, though. I have updated the list with your addition. Thanks.
New Pornographers - Mass Romantic
Headlights - Get Your Head Around It
I rejected "Mass Romantic" the first time through. I'll revisit it, though, if you think it should qualify. Thanks for the second song. I'm not familiar with it, but will see if I can find it on Amazon.
"Second Hand News" - Fleetwood Mac

I think I've probably heard that song, but it's not ringing a bell right now. Thanks.

Good one. I never would've thought to go back and listen for ba-ba songs on the Grinderman disc.

me neither, it was a coincidence I encountered this morning.
Hit the Snow by The Aislers Set was on the iTunes shuffle this evening and I thought of your list. This may be a life long affliction.
Sorry! There was some kind of problem with the first upload of Hit the Snow. Try here.
I like that one. I hadn't heard any of their songs before. I might have to check them out. They've got that poppy feel I like.

Thanks for still playing along.
Those Darlins - Cannonball Blues
I should've known the hillbilly Pipettes would have one. Thanks.

Oh, and my Remembrall finally functioned: Susanna Hoffs - Beekeeper's Blues, Happy Place

Yo La Tengo - Moby Octopad
also from the I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One album: Center of Gravity

Does this count as a Ba-ba song?

(don't hurt me)

It must be a very slow day on the internet if you're off searching for Kid Rock karaoke videos.

I don't think I'll be adding that to my list, thanks anyway.
haha...I just saw an article about how he sent a check to a pizza delivery guy in OH who was robbed and beaten and remembered the song.
I heard about that. The guy wasn't even a fan. Which just proves what I've been saying for years: "Kid Rock is a nice guy despite the fact that his music makes me want to jump off a bridge."
haha...yeah, he seems pretty cool, I don't feel quite as strongly about his music as you do but I'm not exactly a fan either. I also read his comments about how stupid Twitter is, which endeared him a bit to me right then and there.

It oughta count, but I still don't fully grasp the rules of the ba-ba search.

Sort of related, is there any chance you Cranky will be going to DC for the next KttD? I seem remember your thinking about it in a comment stream somewhere.

There are at least three on the Destroyer This Night album: Makin' Angels, Modern Painters, Trembling Peacock
(Please, homebody. If you're going to desecrate my sacred ba-ba thread with non-ba ba comments, please limit your grammar/punctuation errors.)

And on a positive note, thanks for the Destroyer songs. "Modern Painters" is my favorite Destroyer song. I can't believe I hadn't thought of it.

Yeah, I think I said I was gonna do Paper Planes by M.I.A. (though I don't know if I can sing worse than she does). I might make an effort to go (observation purposes only) if you and or M-----l were gonna be there....it's usually on a Sunday, though, right? That's not really very good for me though since I have to call in payroll on Monday, although I could do it on Friday if I want off on Mon.

Bawitdaba doesn't really have "baba" in it so I can see why it doesn't count, his hatred of it notwithstanding. Or something.

Astrid - Weird Clouds
Spinanes - 72-74
Thanks. 400...here we come!

You're welcome. Woo-hoo!

Les Très Bien Ensemble – Les Tigresses

The Velvet Underground - Who Loves the Sun
Thanks, Hotrod. Please listen to the rest of the Velvet Underground's discography and let me know if they have any others. I've got the box set, but I really don't feel like listening to it.
Oh, now that you mention it: I Found A Reason. I'll listen to Loaded this afternoon. There might be one or two more
All Girl Summer Fun Band - Trajectory (the ba-bas are at the very end)
I'm happy to hear they have at least one. I listened to their first two records when I started this project. I expected them to be a goldmine of ba-ba songs, but I didn't find a single one.
I always thought Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer" was a ba-ba song, but I learned tonight that Rock Band 2 considers it a fa-fa song.
I know. Whenever I sing that one I switch it over to ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba. Fa-fa songs are stupid.
Hmmmm.... Maybe I'll compile a list of fa-fa songs.
Homebody already mocked me by starting up a list of cha-cha songs. It's wasn't funny.
I'm sorry I mocked you. I made it go away.
