No More Books To Read...
I've always been an avid reader. I won a calculator in the second grade for reading more books than anyone else in my grade, and I really haven't let up since then. As I got older, though, buying books became just as fun for me as reading them. I bought and bought and bought and accumulated more books than I ever thought I'd get around to reading. At my peak, I had a queue of 75-80 novels and short story collections to get through.
I realized how ridiculous my buying was getting. I decided early last year to curtail my purchasing and concentrate on reading the books I'd already accumulated. I didn't stop buying altogether, but I limited my new purchases. I read four or five old books for every new book I bought. The books on my Books To Read shelf gradually decreased in number.
Well, the whole point of this is that I just finished reading McSweeney's #24 a few minutes ago. It was the last book on my Books To Read shelf. The shelf is empty now.
I guess I've got to go book shopping tomorrow.

I don't know if I'll ever have that much discipline. I feel good if my books purchased matches my books read 1 to 1. And it's usually much worse than that.
Be sure to post what new lucky books get purchased.
I'm hoping I can stick with a buy-one/read-one policy from here on out, but I don't think that's realistic. Keeping my unread books to no more than five at any time is probably something I can do, so that's what I'm going to shoot for.
As far as my upcoming shopping trip goes, I don't even know where to begin. There are so many books out there I want to read. I know there's a chance I'll come home with a dozen new ones.
